Assessor Analyst
Position works under the general direction of the Director of Assessing.  Technical, analytical, highly complex work in the appraisal of town-wide property, in accordance with state and local statutes and regulations.  Responsible for statistical analysis in the appraisal of residential, commercial, industrial and personal property and conducts inspections of property in order to maintain full market value on all property.  Establishes taxable values for new, remodeled or enlarged properties. Examines deeds, maps, building plans and permits, personal records and market data to obtain additional valuation data and to locate all taxable property.

Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and updating the Assessing Department CAMA system; performs periodic review of work progress conducted and reports to the Director of Assessing.

Associate’s degree with courses in business, finance and property assessment; three to five years experience in the real estate or appraisal field, including experience in the valuation of property for tax purposes in accordance with modern assessment principles; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Valid Massachusetts Class D motor vehicle license and Massachusetts Accredited Assessor Certification (MAA).  Skill in utilizing computers and related software programs.
